Shipwell Named a Forbes 2020 Next Billion-Dollar Startup

Shipwell, a 3-in-1 SaaS Shipping solution, was named a Forbes 2020 Next Billion-Dollar Startup. For the last six years, Forbes has worked with TrueBridge Capital Partners to identify the 25 fastest-growing venture-backed startups most likely to reach a $1 billion valuation. From the hundreds of companies nominated, Shipwell was selected as a result of its quick growth and vision to transform the logistics industry.

“Since the global pandemic, companies have realized that the supply chain is no longer back-office,” said Jason Traff, Shipwell President. “It is mission critical.” Shipwell uses AI and machine learning to offer freight tracking and analytics that can improve efficiency and save customers millions in shipping costs. In 2017, Traff and Shipwell CEO Greg Price founded Shipwell to solve common supply chain issues. Recalling a previous venture, Traff said, “we dealt with blackmail, extortion and one kidnapping. We solved all the problems, except for shipping”.

Combining their experience and tech-focused vision of improving the logistics industry, Traff and Price built Shipwell into the TMS that it is today. They have raised $47 million in funding to date ($35 million series B round in October, 2019) and grew estimated revenue to $30 million in 2019.
